Byunghee Oh (오병희 b.1975)

Byunghee Oh (오병희) (b.1975) is a highly sought-after Korean composer and clinician. Well known for her virtuosity and wide variety of compositional styles, her works have been commissioned and performed by numerous Korean professional choirs and in many parts of Asia and Europe. Her compositions have  been heard  at regional American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conferences, the 2019 and 2023 ACDA National Conference, and the 2014 and 2017 World Symposium on Choral Music (WSCM). 

 

In 2022, Ms. Oh was awarded the "Pure Culture Grand Prize in Classical Music" at the 10th Korean Wave Awards. She also served as the resident composer for the National Chorus of Korea from 2018 to 2021.  She teaches at the Korea Choral Composition Academy and has served as composer-in-residence since 2007 for the Yoon Hak Won Chorale. 

She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in composition from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea.
