About the composer
Byunghee Oh (b. 1975) is a highly sought-after Korean composer whose music is known for its lyrical beauty, power, and grandeur, infused with distinct Korean colors. Her works have been commissioned and performed by major professional choirs in Korea. Recently, her works are receiving attention in the United States.
Oh served as the resident composer for the National Chorus of Korea from 2018 to 2021 and for the Yoon Hak-Won Chorale since 2007. She also instructed students at the Korean Academy of Choral Composition since 2010.
In 2022, Oh was honored with the Pure Culture Grand Prize in Classical Music at the 10th Korean Wave Awards.
Currently, she is the representative of OM COMPANY, a performance organizer, and holds several key positions: director of the Korea Chorus Composers Association, director of the Korean Church Music Association, and Editor-in-Chief of Vitnara Publishing in Korea.
