Ko, Steve 고충우 (b. 1985 ~ )

Choongwoo Steve Ko is a conductor, composer, educator, clinician, pianist, and singer. Ko is currently Interim Associate Director of Choral Activities at Stephen F. Austin State University where he teaches two choirs, Choral Methods, Graduate Choral Literatures, and Conducting.

First Prize Winner from American Choral Directors Association Composer Focus Competition in TTBB in 2023, Ko is a prolific composer. His awarded composition A Thousand Winds is published by Hinshaw Music Publishing under Pearl Shangkuan series. Ko's other compositions are published by Hinshaw Music Publishing and Santa Barbara Music Publishing in the USA and Seoul Chorus Center in South Korea.

Ko's compositions based on his biculturalism as Korean American and on his Christian faith are internationally loved and performed.

As a conductor and clinician, Ko has conducted and given clinics to various choirs including secondary school choirs, church choirs, collegiate choirs, and community choirs.
